The best way to check if you have a pipe that has bursted in your plumbing system, is by first checking your water meter.
If no water is being used and the dial of your meter is moving, chances are, you have a leak.
To detect whether it is indoors or outside, locate the main shut off valve.
Shut the main for your indoor plumbing off. Check your meter, again ensuring not to use any water during this period.
If there is no change in the meter readings, your leak is most likely located outside. If there is a change in the meter readings, then it is likely your leak is indoors.
Repeat this for the outdoor main if the meter readings have not moved for indoors.
This process of elimination will help you find where the leak may be. Once you are sure there is a leak, call your local, reliable plumbers!
